Data access and re-use are crucial for competition and innovation in the data economy. However, legal uncertainty surrounding rights and obligations with regard to data is a major obstacle for the uptake of a well-functioning data economy. The ALI-ELI Principles for a Data Economy have been developed to tackle this uncertainty, eg regarding data contracts as well as data rights. Please find a full text version of the current draft (ELI Final Council Draft) here.

If you would like to find out more about the project, join this year's Principles for a Data Economy Conference on 18th and 19th of October 2021, where the project will be presented and discussed by a number of experts from international institutions and more.
